Brian is to host The Mint, a high-energy late-night compendium of live participation studio games, call games, puzzles, stunts and events. The Mint will be filmed on a set resembling a stylish and opulent house with a cash vault (The Mint) at its core. Viewers will be able to call or text to participate in individual games for smaller prizes or the chance to win The Mint jackpot.
The Mint will launch the new ITV Play branded programming, and will feature on ITV1 and ITV2 from the March 31st.
ITV Play will broadcast live on ITV1 from 12.00 to 04.00, seven nights a week, running for 182 episodes and will feature studio games, call games, puzzles, celebrity guests, and pre-recorded interviews. ITV Play will launch as a channel on Freeview on April 19 and will launch on other platforms later this year.
Upcoming ITV Play formats will include a Coronation Street-inspired 'Rovers Return' pub quiz from ITV Productions, featuring big cash prizes and star appearances from the network's longest-running soap opera.
The broadcaster is also planning to extend ITV Play into mobile spin-offs and broadband streaming. ITV chief executive Charles Allen has predicted that ITV Play will make £20m in profit in its first 12 months.
