Celeb Night In - Star Magazine 21.09.04

Brian Dowling

Brian explains why his former SM:tv co-presenter Tess Daly should look out ...

  • Which programmes do you always set your video for?

Coronation Street as my friend Antony Cotton (Sean Tully) is in it. He's not that camp in real life! I'm also loving The X Factor, especially Sharon.

  • Who was your first-ever TV crush?

Davina McCall's husband Matthew Robertson. I used to watch him on Pet Rescue and wish that he'd come and rescue me. I so wanted to be his puppy.

  • Which TV star do you fancy now?

Vernon Kay. It's amazing blue eyes, plus he's such a lovely person. And that accent just adds to the appeal! Why, if Tess wasn't on the scene ... that b!tch'd better watch her back!

  • What is your biggest TV turn-off?

I really hate shows that are too critical of people like What Not to Wear. That's just nasty!

  • What's your perfect night in front of the TV?

On my own in my living room - eating. Let's be honest, there would be lots of food. Chicken and mashed potato; a ready-made meal from M&S, followed by a Vanilla Magnum.

  • What's your guilty viewing secret?

The Fit Farm, which used to be on channel 4. I would even record it if I knew I wouldn't catch it. I could really relate to it. Oh, don't tell anyone I said that!

Brian hosts I'm Famous And Frightened, Sunday 3 October, 2pm, and Monday 4 October, 6pm, Living tv.
