the official website of TV presenter Brian Dowling!

Since winning Big Brother Series 2 in 2001 Brian has never looked back - going on to become an established TV/Radio presenter, voice over artist, corporate host and Panto star. Still universally loved, Brian was voted 'The Nation's Favourite Big Brother Housemate Ever 'by the public in 2005 2007.' In 2010 Brian received the supreme accolade of being voted the fans No1 housemate in C4's last series "Ultimate Big Brother".

Brian would like to thank everyone for their unconditional support over the years, saying he has 'the most amazing and loyal fans in the world'.

» Walkers Sensation TVNow Awards '08

Brian is attending the Walkers Sensation TVNow awards this Saturday night, April 12th, where he will be presenting an award.

The Walkers Sensation TVNow Awards, now in their third year, are Ireland's glittering Television Awards ceremony where they honour the best presenters and shows on Irish television. The star-studded, black-tie ceremony takes place in Dublin's Mansion House.

» Brian Dowling's Cheesy Pop 100

This Saturday 12th April Brian is presenting an 8 Hour marathon of Cheesy Pop Videos on Smash Hits TV.
Starting at 4pm the pop 100 Videos runs until midnight.
 
So join Brian on Saturday on Sky channel 352 or Virgin Channel 337 to hear his views on the top 100 Cheesy Pops Videos
 
If you can't catch the show on Saturday it is repeated on Wednesday on the Smash Hits TV channel 9am - 5pm.

» Brian Dowling - Anonymous RTÉ 2 9:30pm 31.3.2008

Brian is one of six celebrities taking part in the new series of Anonymous on RTÉ 2, a show where, by the help of prosthetics the celebrity is disguised and goes undercover to fool friends and the public.  Taking part this series along with Brian are Westlife's Nicky Byrne, Glenda Gilson, Anna Nolan, and Craig Doyle.
 
During the show Brian is transformed into Private Aidan Cowley, and sent onto the streets of Dublin doing an army recruiting drive. He manages to  dupe his sister Aoife, and two former BB contestants during the process of the show . A report on part of what happened on the day by one of the people tricked by Brian, Seány O'Kane BB8 can be viewed HERE.
 
Brian's episode goes out on March 31st at 9.30pm on RTÉ 2.

Brian and his 3 youngest sisters Paula (21), Aoife(18), and Tara (15)  have a 6 page feature in this months VIP Magazine. Brian and his sisters are featured in a series of glossy photographs taken at the Trinity Capital Hotel, Dublin.

In his interview Brian chats about his new television career in Ireland, and says he has his sights set on hosting the Rose of Tralee, but also has his eye on some things in the UK too, that he is excited about.

Reaching 30 this year Brian talks about his plans for a big party, and how he feels about reaching this milestone.

With insights into the current state of his love life,  thoughts from his mum, and some beautiful shots, the magazine is a real treat for all Brian fans.

The event is being hosted by Ruby Wax, and other celebrity guests include Ronan Keating, Sophie Anderton, Snow Patrol's Gary Lightbody, Jimmy Nesbitt, Eddie Jordan, Fergie, Eddie Irvine, Paul Rankin and Caprice.

The awards are a celebration of the best in the Northern Irish Entertainments Industry, recognising and rewarding the best Bars, Restaurants, Clubs and Personalities for their efforts over the past year.

» Meteor Music Awards Dublin 15.2.2008

Brian presented the award for the Best Irish Folk/Traditional Artist to Damien Dempsey at Ireland's equivalent of the BRITS - The Meteor Music Awards, on Friday 15th February 2008 at the RDS Simmonscourt Dublin.

Among those attending the awards ceremony was Westlife, Boyzone, Sinead O’Connor. Stuart Townsend and Charlize Theron also attended the awards being in Dublin for the Dublin International Film Festival.


This is the second time that Brian has presented an award at the event. In 2003 presented the award for Best Irish Album: Skylarkin' - Mic Christopher.

"So You Want to be Famous?" RTÉ One - presented by Brian Dowling. The first part of this three part series begins this evening at 10-15.

Each programme will focus on different steps on the journey to celebrity; providing invaluable advice on: avoiding the pitfalls, playing the game, knowing who's in and who's out, surviving the social scene, managing the scandals, dealing with the media, coping with criticism, understanding the difference between personality and show and getting your competition before they get you.


As a result, us mere mortals will get a unique and compelling insight into how the Irish social system actually works - how our celebrities rise and fall.
