presented three series of I'm Famous & Frightened Extra and
gave the shows a welcome boost with his own brand of fun.
The live shows were a mix of interviews, games
and analysis of the previous night's events and challenges. Brian
battled with unco-operative technical equipment (and guests too,
at times!) but
unsurprisingly sailed through it, forming bonds along the way with
such diverse people as Rustie Lee, Adele Silva, Toyah Wilcox, Christopher
Biggins Daniella Westbrook and Handy Andy Crane.
venues for the spooky extravaganzas were some of the most haunted
places in Britain, Fyvey Castle near Aberdeen (although Brian strangely
thought he was in Edinburgh - geography obviously not his strong
point!) Dover Castle in Kent and Bolsover Castle in Derbyshire.
went down a storm with the celebrities, the psychologists and parapsychologists,
the owners and curators of the houses & castles, and it seemed
the public agreed too as most of the texts displayed on screen during
the shows mentioned him in glowing terms! He proved himself a seasoned
professional at presenting live TV, whilst keeping up a light-hearted
and fun atmosphere in what could have been a dire concept.
When asked about the best part of their experience of I'm Famous
& Frightened, a few of the celebs commented that they had enjoyed
Brian's shows the most, although as the rest of the weekends involved
them being scared witless that may or may not be down to his wonderful
company. We never did find out if Brian himself had any paranormal
experiences, but it's probably safe to say he didn't, as we would
surely have heard the screams!
